About
Investigating how art therapy affects people's psychological states was the origin of Maria's creative practice rooted in a psycho-social investigation. Through an exploration of the subconscious through color, shape and form, in her paintings she journeys into the macro and micro worlds - from cells to universes. She draws inspiration in abstract and expressionist techniques.
"The root of my projects lies in codifying momentary perceptions, sensations and impressions. I explore creative flow as an energy exchange. My process is meditative and subconscious. I match feeling to color, memory to metaphorical visualization. The results manifest as coloristic dreams and abstract representations of mental states."
Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine she had began artistic practice exploring graphic design and non-figurative painting. Upon arriving to NYC she has continued her creative practice through digital media projects and group exhibitions, as well as completing several projects for Sotheby's Auction Events.
